Legal
Cookies and local storage
Notice provided under art. 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 and the "Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools" of the Italian data protection authority (Garante) of 10 June 2021. The Italian text is the reference version.
Last updated: .
1. Cookies and local storage: what we are talking about
Cookies are small text files a site can save in the browser, which are sent back to the server on every visit. Local storage (Web Storage: localStorage and sessionStorage) is another storage area of the browser that stays on the device and is not sent to the server automatically. The consent rules (art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code) apply to both tools, which is why both are described on this page.
2. Cookies used by this site
None. The site and its backend set no cookies: no technical cookies, no analytics, profiling or advertising cookies and no third-party cookies.
Should the Restaurant enable additional services of the hosting provider in the future (for example a content delivery network or bot protection), those services might set strictly technical cookies: this page would then be updated.
3. Browser local storage
The site uses two keys of the browser's storage, both set by the site itself (first party) and both strictly technical:
Key
Type
Purpose
Duration
pdo-chat-v1
sessionStorage
Keeps your conversation with the assistant Pino in the browser tab you are using, so that it is not lost if you reload the page. It stays on your device: it is not read by the server nor shared with anyone.
Until the tab or the browser is closed
pdo-notice-v1
localStorage
Remembers that you dismissed the notice about local storage, so that it is not shown again on this browser.
Until you clear the site data from your browser
Neither key contains tracking identifiers, neither is used to recognise you across sites and neither is sent to third parties. Your conversation with Pino is sent to our server only while you chat, to generate the answer: how and by whom it is processed is described in the privacy notice.
4. Why there is no consent banner
The Garante's Guidelines of 10 June 2021 and art. 122(1) of the Italian Privacy Code do not require consent for cookies and storage tools that are strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. The two keys described above fall into this category: they make the chat you open work and avoid repeating a notice you have already dismissed. For these tools a notice is enough, and this page is that notice.
For transparency, on your first visit the site still shows a short notice pointing to this page; dismissing it does not amount to any consent, because none is needed.
5. Third-party resources
When you visit the site your browser talks only to the site's own domain. No resources are loaded from third-party servers: the fonts (DM Serif Display, DM Serif Text and Questrial) are served by the site itself and not by Google Fonts; there are no embedded maps, videos, social-network buttons or widgets, analytics or advertising scripts. Your IP address is therefore seen only by the server hosting the site.
6. How to clear local storage
The conversation with Pino (pdo-chat-v1) disappears by itself when you close the tab.
To also delete pdo-notice-v1, remove the "site data" for this domain in your browser settings: usually under Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and site data (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) or Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data (Safari). "Clear browsing data" or private/incognito browsing have the same effect.
You can also stop the browser from saving data for this site: the site keeps working, but the chat does not survive a page reload and the notice reappears on every visit.
7. If we add analytics or marketing tools in the future
This notice describes the site as it is today. Should the Restaurant decide to add analytics tools, marketing pixels, maps or embedded third-party content, before enabling them it must: update this page with the list of tools, purposes and durations; adopt a consent management tool (banner) compliant with the Garante's Guidelines, which blocks non-essential scripts until consent is given and lets visitors refuse as easily as they accept; and update the privacy notice.
